As Fourth Dimension Signs — and now as Dimension Sign — this shop built the country's most widely used municipal concrete-stamp supplier: 35+ city programs in 17 states, including St. Paul's famous Sidewalk Poetry program, which we've fabricated for since its early years.
That business now has its own name. Meet Stamped Sidewalks — our sister company.
In 2008, St. Paul reimagined its annual sidewalk-repair program as public art: a resident poetry contest, with winning poems pressed into fresh concrete wherever the city replaced a panel. The program's stamps came off this shop's CNC — and as Public Art Saint Paul tells it, we didn't just fabricate them, we made them more usable and more durable year after year. Today more than 1,400 poems are stamped across St. Paul, and the city estimates every resident lives within a ten-minute walk of one.
Other cities noticed. Most of the programs we supply are modeled on St. Paul's, each with its own local twist — a library contest in Sheboygan, a citywide project in Dallas, bilingual poems in Costa Mesa's parks, an annual program in Appleton that reorders every spring. The stamps are CNC-machined from half-inch engineering plastic with quarter-inch letter relief, framed in aluminum with machined-in handles, sized to standard four- and five-foot sidewalk panels, and shipped nationwide with release agent and stamping guidance. A city's own concrete crew presses them into the pour — no special trade required.
By the time the business had programs in seventeen states — repeat annual clients from California to Massachusetts, and production files reaching back to 2010 — it deserved more than a product line inside a sign company. In 2026 it became Stamped Sidewalks — a sister company with its own online designer, instant pricing, and the same CNC precision, machined in the Twin Cities. The next chapter is already in development with St. Paul's program: QR-linked granite tablets set beside the poems, carrying translations and audio.
Every red state has stamp work in our production archive — cut files, art, or shipment records. Select one to see the cities and programs inside it. It's the most complete public record of how far this program has actually traveled.
